Here We Go...For Real, this time.

So I've tried this once before.  The blogging thing.  I found that I got started and was excited, but never knew exactly what to post about.  Why on earth would strangers want to read about my life?  So...I posted one time with big promises and enthusiasm for the life of a blogger...and that was the extent of it.  Since that time, I have become a blog LOVER.  I've created quite a collection of blogs I now check on a regular basis for a variety of reasons...and find new ones to follow all the time.  Then, I thought, "Okay, I can do this!  I just need to be focused on ONE thing instead of too many."  So, at the risk of this becoming an online diary (we don't want to go there), I think I've finally come up with a concept that will work for my life and might interest or inspire other people.  Creativity and celebration.

I'm creative by nature.  From the time I was a little girl, I was coming up with different ways of doing things, loved art of all medias, and was a real crafter (thanks mom).  In the past couple of months of actually having some free time -- (I am a teacher, so work hard during the school year but was off for the holidays) -- I have rediscovered the joy I get from actually CREATING something.  Whether it's a recipe, an organizational task to conquer, a holiday craft, a home project...I love it all.  I get this calm that comes over me during that creativity time, and it truly is one of the only times I can get my mind to completely clear.

Ok, onto celebration.  Who doesn't love to celebrate?  Birthdays, holidays, engagements, babies, jobs, family, friends, living!!!  There is ALWAYS a reason to celebrate something....God provides opportunities for this every day, even if we don't always see it through our routines.  I don't know about you, but when I truly celebrate something, I do so to the best of my ability and as much as I can.  Decorating, planning parties, cooking...there's so many ways to celebrate!

So this blog is going to be a combination of the two.  I am going to be a maid of honor this year and helping to plan my sister's wedding.  I just moved into a new apartment.  I found some friends that love crafting as much as I do.  What a perfect year to get started!  If anything, it will be a place I can keep track of my projects and feel a sense of accomplishment.  I get most of my ideas and inspiration from other people, so please don't think it's all me.  But I hope you find it a place that you can come for inspiration as well.  To create something.  To celebrate living.

  1. Hey Stacey! It's your Mom's cousin Tina! I love your blog. Creativity and Celebration is a great concept. I have enjoyed cake decorating for years but have never taken a class....I made all of my kids birthday cakes through the years. Now that they are teens and don't want "character" cakes any more, I may take a few cake classes at Joann =) So, good luck, and county me one of your faithful blog followers!

  2. Hey Tina! I'm glad you like it! It's fun to post and be able to share...even to invisible people. Hope you get to take a cake class. I LOVED it and hope to take a lot more. Let me know how it goes and if you learn any cool ideas for cakes!
